Text2Web lets you send a peer-to-peer or broadcast text with a link to a web survey, then collect and export the responses — all from i360 Portal. This guide walks you through setting up a campaign, building your survey, and finding your results.
Permission required: Texting > Create Texting Surveys
1. Getting Started
Log in to your i360 Portal account.
2. Creating a Text2Web Campaign
Go to Field > Text > Create New, then choose Peer to Peer or Broadcast.
Complete the campaign form using the values below:
Field | What to Enter |
Message Type | Select SMS or MMS. |
Title | Create a descriptive title for your campaign. |
Text Audience | Select the audience list you want to send this text to. |
Text Date Range | Enter a start date and time, and an end date and time for your campaign. |
Area Code | Enter your preferred area code for the from-number that will send the text message. |
State | Select your state. |
Send Web Surveys in Text | Check this box. *REQUIRED for Text2Web feature* |
Volunteers | Select your saved list or assign individual volunteers |
Message Content | Create your text message content. |
Once all fields are complete, select Next.
3. Building Your Survey Script
Add your survey questions. For each one, select a question type and enter the answer choices, tags, and any optional logic.
Enter a Thank You URL — the page respondents see after completing the survey.
Enter an Expired URL — the page respondents see if they open the survey link after it has expired.
Once the required fields are complete, select Next to move to the Text Action panel.
4. Setting Pre-Approved Responses
On the Text Action panel, go to the Set Pre-Approved Responses step, if applicable, and configure any responses you'd like to use.
When you're finished, select Publish to activate the text action.
5. Sending and Verifying Your Survey
⚠️ Note: Test messages will not include a working Bitly survey link. Bitly links are generated only after the campaign is published, so the link will appear only in messages sent from a live campaign.
Once your campaign is live and the text has gone out:
Open the text message and confirm the content displays correctly.
Open the Bitly link in the message to view the full survey.
Complete the survey yourself to confirm the question logic, Thank You page, and expired-link behavior all work as expected.
6. Finding Your Survey Responses
To check response counts and download responses for a text action:
Go to Field > Text and find the Total Responses column in the table to see how many responses have come in.
Hover over the text action row and select the Download icon.
Choose CSV to download the file — responses will be listed there.
Tip: You can also search for audiences based on your survey tags in Basic or Advanced Search. Go to Search > Basic or Advanced > My Data, then search by the tags used in your survey.
